J&J Red Cross Coupon Makes For $.24 cents First Aid Kits At Walmart/Target!

There is $1.50/2 J&J coupon off any Red Cross product in the 7/31 Red Plum insert.  The travel first aid kits are usually $.99 cents at Wal-Mart and Target so you can possibly get two for 24 cents each (please price check at your store).  I was able to do this deal today ( I should I say my hubby) at Wal-Mart.  He got 10 travel first aid kits for $2.88.  We will be donating some of them to Outside-The-Walls for their back to school community project. If you missed the post about Outside-The-Walls, go here to read all about this awesome organization geared towards helping women and how you can help them by donating school supplies.  I love me some deals and being able to give to others!

Here’s how to get this deal:

1.  Buy 2 J&J First Aid To Go Kits $.99 (found in travel section)
2.  Use $1.50/2 any J&J Red Cross products RP (#2) 7-31-11
3.  Final price: 2/$.48 ($.24 ea.!) plus tax!

Tanita’s Coupon Journey! Please Read Her Story!

Good afternoon!  I am so pleased to introduce another feature of clipsavegive.  I want to showcase coupon journey stories from people who inspire me and who share the same principles I do when it comes to using coupons.  So today, I would like to introduce you to my friend – Tanita Rance.  We have known each other for about 4 years and God reconnected us at World Worship Church, using coupons and working the Dave Ramsey plan.  She also played a role in the birth of my third child (ask either one of us about that).  I pray that her coupon journey will encourage you, particularly single mothers or those of you still skeptical about using coupons.

Couponing and Me by Tanita Rance

I toyed around with coupons here and there, but never really committed to the process though.  I thought it would be a complete waste of time and money to buy a newspaper, clip all those coupons and plus I figured there wouldn’t be a whole lot of coupons for the things I wanted or use!!! Save 35 cents here, 50 cents there…UGGGHHHH…NO THANKS!!!! This minute amount of change would do NOTHING for my $100-$150 weekly grocery bill. Plus, did I mention my mom used coupons when I was a child and I was utterly EMBARRASED by this! I thought her using coupons made us look “poor”!!!

So, let’s fast-forward to the earlier part of 2010, a few of my friends started talking to me about coupons. I was so not interested! The nerve of them to think I, a single parent of three children, that works a full-time job, and volunteers at my church weekly, could possibly fit something so tedious into my already hectic schedule. I just wasn’t sold on the idea of creating more work for myself. After all I thought the idea was to simplify my life not create more obligations!!!! They(my friends) started bringing me their receipts and I would analyze them and ask numerous questions about their shopping trips and savings. I finally made it up in my mind that I need a piece of the action! Ok, here it goes…

My first trip to my favorite “High Priced” grocery store Harris Teeter with my coupons was divine!!!! I saved a whopping $42….I was hooked!!! It was like I was robbing the store and the cashiers were happy to assist me…wow!!!  To date my biggest savings so far has been $83.35. I was sooooo happy that I had to post a picture of my receipt on Facebook for the world or at least my friends to see.

Needless to say I now am a binder toting, avid couponer!!!!  I’ve never looked back and can you blame me, its seven months into 2011 and I’ve already saved over $1000 with coupons! There’s nothing like going to my favorite “High Priced” store and walking out with free items, everything from toothpaste to cleaning supplies! I am able to get all the things my family likes to eat as well as stock up on non-perishable items, hygiene products, even school supplies. I have money left over in my budget to save, pay off debt, or to give extra to my church! I’m able as well to give from my abundance to those in need! What an awesome feeling to be able to give freely, It’s the most fulfilling part in my opinion; it’s what we as believers are called to do. Our Heavenly Father charges us to give… give our time, our resources, and most of all our LOVE!!! What a tremendous act of compassion and selflessness to take from our overflow to reach down and help our fellow-man up! It’s like giving to God himself! Not only am I giving to others, I am also teaching my kids valuable life lessons! They learn first and foremost, selflessness! Then there’s comparison shopping, planning meals, and getting the most bang for their buck…lol!!!

I must say I despised clipping coupons BUT…have no fear I’ve found a remedy for that! It’s called coupondede.com. I simply go to the site, select which coupons I want and the quantity of each, checkout, and in about three days I have a little white package of my treasured coupons in my mailbox! How could I forget to tell you, I literally pay pennies for each coupon. After receiving my coupons I look over the sales papers for the week to plan my shopping trips!!! Grocery day to me is like a trip to the amusement park! What once brought me much grief now brings me sheer DELIGHT!!!!

Happy Couponing Ya’ll! –  Tanita

Saturday Shopping Results: Free (Paid Tax Only!) Pantiliners and Cheap Zantac!

I had another decent day of shopping and once again stayed within my grocery budget, but there is no more cash in the envelope (oh boy!).  I am praying that I will not have to get anything again before Thursday or else we will need another family budget meeting.  I think we will be just fine.  It is so awesome to have a nice stockpile.  Thank you Lord!  The highlight of my trip was:

1.  Target:  $.74 cents Zantac using a $5/1 manufacturer coupon and a $2/1 Target store coupon.  I love getting this deal at Target and have done it several times.  I even got a $3/1 Zantac Catalina coupon that printed as I checked out.

2.  Lowes Food :  $.94 cents box of Honey Nut Cheerios using a .$75/1 coupon (that doubled) that I got from the demo lady in the store.  I also got 2 Lowes Food bleach for $.88 cents each as part of my E-Offers.  That is a great price for bleach even without a coupon.  Have you signed for Lowes Food emails yet?

3.  Harris Teeter:  Got some good meat deals and the Luigi’s Italian Ice for $.69 cents.  I had to get several rain checks today because they were out of stock on a few things I wanted. I also used the $5/$25 coupon from Family Dollar that I told you about earlier this week to help with my savings.

4.  Bi-Lo:  I got 10 packages of Carefree Pantiliners by just paying tax of $.57 cents!  I had to go to two stores to get them though.  So how did I do that you ask?  I used the $3/2 Carefree Pantiliners coupon from the July Walgreens coupon booklet to score this deal (it expires today).  They cost $1.49 each so I just had to pay tax for them.  I am so glad Bi-Lo accepts competitor coupons!  I am planning to donate some of them as part of my back to school donation I am making to Outside-The-Walls.  Once again, clipsavegive in action!

How did you do this weekend?  Are you staying within your budget (or do you have a budget yet)?
