My Harris Teeter Unlever Deal: Spent 61 Cents For $28.20 Worth Of Items!

I meant to post this earlier, but it has been a FULL I MEAN FULL work week for me already.  My husband went today to Harris Teeter today to take advantage of the Unilever promotion where you save $5 instantly for buying $15 worth of certain Unilever products.  Here’s what he got:

(3) Ragu Pasta Sauces for 64 cents each

(1) Lipton Tea Bags for 15 cents

(4) Lipton Onion Soup Mixes for 50 cents each

(4) Knorr Rices for 28 cents each

(2) ICBINB Spreads for 15 cents each

With the $5 instant savings, manufacturer coupons and EVIC coupons, he spent 61 cents for $28.20 worth of items, saving 98%. Man, I just wish I could have gotten one more trip before this FABULOUS deal ends tonight.

Savvy Saturday Shopping Results!

Happy Saturday!  This has been quite a long week for me at work so I am so glad it is the weekend!  This week, I did not do my normal shopping like I do because I don’t get paid until next week (funny how pay periods fall sometime — LOL).  It is wonderful that I have a great stockpile of things because there were not a lot of things I needed to purchase this weekend anyway.  However, we did budget a few extra dollars for the Food Lion closing sale.  Thanks so much to my husband @Dwayne Hodges for going this week to get some deals (I was literally stuck to my work computer quite a bit working on a major project this week).  He made two trips to Food Lion earlier this week (the store was really crowded on Wednesday like Black Friday):

On the first trip, he spent $38.79 for $102.74 worth of items, saving 62%.  The items were mostly household items where he got 4 50 oz bottles of Tide Detergent for $2.24 each.

The second trip he spent $39.09 for $114.64 worth of items, saving 66%.  The second trip was mostly food and OTC medicines that were great deals.

So today I made one small trip to @Harris Teeter. My husband transferred a prescription to their pharmacy (Harris Teeter New Pharmacy Customers Program Rx Punch Card promotion) earlier this week so we got a $20 electronic coupon to spend on our next shopping trip.  Plus, I had a $2 off coupon from purchasing the Granola bars at Lowes Foods last week.  There were a few items we needed to hold us over until I shop next week and I wanted to take advantage of some EVIC deals as well.  I spent $1.05 for $48.45 worth of items, saving 98%.  Here is some of what I got:

- FREE Items:  (2) packs of Starkist Tuna pouches, (2) trial sizes of Tide Detergent (had some $1 coupons that were going to expire on Tuesday (1/31).

- $1.00 or Less:  (2) 1 lb boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch for 77 cents each (the 17 oz was on my EVIC, but they were out so they let me substitute the bigger size boxes — Yes THANK YOU JESUS – God’s favor), and (3) bags of Kettle Chips for 84 cents each.

I also grabbed (1) bottle of Tide for $3.47.  I would have gotten my second one, but I only had (1) $2 coupon left since my husband used them at Food Lion on Wednesday.

What deals did you grab this week?  I am looking forward to next week new deals already……

Starting Wed. Jan. 25th, all items will be marked down 50%. Here are the details:

Store Clearance & Closing Sale: 25% off until Tuesday, Jan. 24th.  Starting Wed. Jan. 25th, items will be 50% off (excludes tobacco and alcohol).  You do not need to use your MVP card because the discount comes off at the register.  They are still accepting manufacturer coupons, but ARE NOT ACCEPTING Food Lion Store coupons for items.

Store Close Date: February 15, 2012

Store Hours: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm

I plan to stock up on laundry supplies and other household items.  I will let you know what deals I got later next week.

Reminder: Fort Mill #Coupon Group Meeting Is Tomorrow!

The next Fort Mill coupon meeting will be held tomorrow — Saturday, January 21st from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm at the Baxter Village Library @Fort Mill, SC. We normally meet the second Saturday of each month, but FOR JANUARY ONLY, we moved the meeting to third Saturday since the library will be closed on January 14th in observance of Martin Luther King’s birthday.

Come and out and meet other neighbors who love to save money using coupons, bring coupons to swap separated into categories, expired coupons for “Coups For Troops” (and a $1 voluntary donation for postage costs and no store coupons) and extra stockpile items to benefit the @Fort Mill Care Center. This month we are also going to talk about setting a grocery budget and how to know when a deal is really a deal.

Spread the word about our group to anyone you know who loves to save money using coupons. We look forward to seeing you there!
