Savvy Saturday Shopping Results!!!!

Happy Saturday and weekend to you!!!!!!  So after my 6 trips to Harris Teeter this past week for Super Doubles, my shopping this weekend was much lighter.  I still made it to three stores between Friday night and today.  I also spent part of my Saturday at my son Jalen’s region band rehearsal/concert.  Therefore, it was great that I didn’t have a lot of grocery shopping to do this weekend.

Here are the things I got last night and today:

Lowes FoodsI spent $28.63 for $64.72 worth of items, saving 56%.  I used one of my $5/$25 Family Dollar coupons on this order.  I bought 8 packages in combination of Pillsbury Toaster Strudel, Biscuit Sandwiches and Egg Scrambles and paid $1.19 each for them.  I used the in store coupons on these items (expires Tuesday) and saved $4, used (4) $1/2 coupons and a digital coupon for 50 cents off Toaster Strudel.  I also got the milk for $2.88 each, the Old Orchard Healthy Balance Apple Juice for $2 each.  The Gain Detergent was $2.99 and the Maxwell House Coffee was $1.48 each.

Bi-LoI spent $39.25 for $65.76, saving 40%.  This picture is some of the items I purchased from a trip made last night and today.I got (2) packs of Scotts Paper Towels for $3.99 each and the Downy and Gain Fabric Softeners were $1.99 each.  I also grabbed (4) Oscar Mayer Lunchables (the other 3 have been eaten already) for 89 cents each and grabbed some boneless chicken breast for $7.50 (B1G1 Free deal).  We will be cooking chicken fajitas tonight for dinner (see what I got at Harris Teeter for this meal).  I had to grab a raincheck for the Downy Fabric Softener because I got the last bottle they had at the Fort Mill store last night.  I also may go back to get the Starkist Tuna to earn the Fuelperks, but still thinking on that one.

Harris TeeterI spent $23.67 for $80.17, saving 70%.  I used another $5/$25 coupon from Family Dollar on this trip.  I also found some things on clearance that I grabbed on this trip as well.  Also, I missed printing the free milk coupon when you buy three breakfast items.  I hope I can grab a coupon for this tomorrow and will return to the store to get my milk with my receipt from today. I got (3) Dove Men’s Body Washes (on clearance) for $1.31 each, (2) Glade Air Freshener (on clearance) for 89 cents each, (2) bottles of Dawn Dish Detergent for 77 cents each, (4) boxes of Kellogg’s cereals for $1.47 each (not a price I like to pay per box, but I didn’t get this deal this past week at Food Lion so decided to get them today since I was using $5/$25 coupon), (2) bottles of Harris Teeter Orange Juice for $1.97 each, (2) Palermo’s Pizzas for $2.77 each.  I also grabbed the meal deal for $4.99 or $1.25 per item:  Harris Teeter 8″ Flour Tortilla, Harris Teeter Salsa, Harris Teeter Shredded Cheese, and Harris Teeter Sour Cream.  These are the items I will be using tonight to make chicken fajitas of course.

So, most of the things I grabbed this weekend were at good stockpile prices like the coffee, fabric softener, milk, body washes, and paper towels.  Remember, the key to saving with coupons is buying when items go on sale and buying enough to last until the item goes on sale again (but please don’t be extreme and clear the shelves — save some for others).

What deals are you getting this weekend?

Have a blessed rest of the weekend!!!!

One Last Time: @HarrisTeeter Super Doubles Trip #6: Spent $4.30 For $27.58 Worth Of Items!

Happy President’s Day!  I enjoyed my day off today, by my dear friend @Janice Elam Carter for lunch and for a shopping trip to @HarrisTeeter.  We actually shopped at the Rock Hill, SC store today.  She got almost $100 worth of items for $23.  Me — I didn’t double 20 coupons this trip, but did manage to snag a few things.  I spent $4.30 for $27.58 worth of items, saving 84%.  I used my $2.50 coupon that I got on Sunday’s trip on this order.  I also got $1 credited to my @SavingStar account.  If you have not heard of or signed up for SavingStar, check out this post I did earlier about it.  It is another great way to get paid to shop!  Here is what I got:

(2) bags of McCain’s Potatoes for 50 cents each, (3) 4 pack Activia for 59 cents each, (2) bottles of Welch’s Grape Juice for $1 each and (1) Kraft Romano Grated Cheese for $1.89 (on clearance).

So this should be the end of it for me this time around.  Once again, I had a blast saving money with coupons!!!!!

@HarrisTeeter Super Doubles Trip #5: Spent $39.56 For $121.96 Worth Of Items!

Happy Sunday!  Although it is rainy and it was a great day to be indoors, I ventured outside once again to church @World Worship Church and of course @HarrisTeeter.  Today, I took my time walking around looking for great deals with the coupons I had. Plus, I had to pick up some sale items that I didn’t have coupons for and get some great deals with some rainchecks.  I also used the $5/$25 Family Dollar coupon that was in the newspaper today on this order.  Also, for purchasing 4 bottles of V-8 Splash I got a $2.50 coupon to use on my next order.  Special thanks to my coupon friend Carrie C. for giving me a raincheck for Ragu Pasta Sauce while I was at the store.  The raincheck was B2G3 free and made for a GREAT deal!

So here is what I got (I spent $39.56 for $121.96 worth of items, saving 68%):

FREE Items:  (1) Smithfield Bacon Pouch, (1) bottle of Dawn Dish Detergent and (1) Always Pantiliners

$1.00 or Less:  (10) Jars of Ragu Pasta Sauce for 46 cents each (used a raincheck), (1) Gain Fabric Softener for 49 cents (EVIC coupon came off twice), (2) boxes of Puffs Tissue for 50 cents each, (8) cans of Green Giant Canned Veggies for 50 cents each (EVIC coupon came off twice), (1) Charmin Freshmates for 69 cents, (2) boxes Betty Crocker Mashed Potatoes for 75 cents (I found another coupon for it in the leftover coupons from the last Fort Mill Coupon Group meeting), (1) Mrs. Paul Fishsticks for 84 cents, (1) Vicks Nature Fusion Cough Medicine for 99 cents (used a raincheck), and (3) Dr. Ristor Pizzas for $1 each (used a raincheck)

This may actually be my final trip for super doubles.  I need to check my binder and rainchecks to make sure I am not missing any great deals.  I’m off work tomorrow for President’s Day so we will see…..stay tuned……

@HarrisTeeter Super Doubles Trip #4: Spent $52.97 For $157.11 Worth Of Items!

Happy Saturday!  I only shopped at one grocery store today because I also actually had to do some retail shopping for my kids today for clothes and shoes (yes what a change of pace for me).  Since I am off Monday, I will make a small trip to Lowes Foods, Bi-Lo and Food Lion for some stockpile items.  Today, at Harris Teeter, I grabbed some meats and other things we needed.  I also grabbed the Deer Park Bottled Water.  I used my $5 off my next shopping trip on my VIC card and a $5/$50 coupon from Lowes Food on this trip. However, my EVIC price of $1.27 each did not come off again for the Zatarain’s Rice Mix.  Since I was buying 3 boxes (the coupon is for $.50/3), the manager gave me all three boxes for $1.27 each.

Here is what I got (I spent $52.97 for $157.11 worth of items, saving 66%):

FREE Items: (6) Hefty Storage Bags (I had a raincheck for B1G1 limit of 4) and (1) bottle of Kikkoman Soy Sauce

$1.00 or Less:  (6) bottles of Coffeemate Creamer for 52 cents each, (3) packs of Activia for 59 cents each, (1) Charmin Freshmates for 69 cents, (1) bottles of Greenworks Bleach for 74 cents (on clearance), (6) boxes of Hamburger Helper for 75 cents each, (2) bottles of Palmolive for 84 cents each (on clearance), (4) boxes of GM cereal for 88 cents each, (2) bottles of Welch’s Grape Juice for $1 each

Do you think I have enough cereal by now?  (LOL)  I am planning to make maybe one or two more trips to Harris Teeter to use some rainchecks so stay tuned……

@HarrisTeeter Super Doubles Trip #3: Spent $35.35 For $109.76 Worth Of Items!

TGIF!!!!!!  It’s a long weekend for me!  Of course I went back to Harris Teeter today!  I finally did the GM deal promotion correctly for buying 15 participating items and you get $5 off your next order (see the items on the left side of the picture).  I thought it would print as a coupon at the end of my transaction, but it is actually automatically placed on your VIC card, therefore it will come off on your next shopping trip.  You will see it printed on the bottom of your receipt along with your other E-VIC specials.  That works for me since I will be going back tomorrow for trip #4. The only thing that did not come off for me today was my E-VIC for (2) Zatarain’s Rice Mixes at $1.27 each.  However, I forgot to give the cashier my coupons for these (I would have been over my 20 coupon limit for the day anyway).  I will have to correct that tomorrow when I purchase two more since it is still on my E-VIC.  $1.27 is still a decent price for Zatarain’s and I need some for my stockpile.

Now to what I got today (I spent $35.35 for $109.76 worth of items, saving 68%):

FREE Items:  (3) packs of Smithfield Bacon Pouches (these were not on my E-VIC, but I got them free using (3) $1 coupons and (3) $2 store coupons that were hanging next to them), (2) jars of Planters Peanut Butter (I had a raincheck for $1.47 each and used a $1.50 coupon I printed)

$1.00 or Less:  (4) boxes of GM cereals for 61 cents each, (1) 4 pack roll of Charmin Bath Tissue for 74 cents, (1) Greenworks Bleach for 74 cents (on clearance), (3) packs of Yoplait Light Yogurt for 89 cents each, (4) Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls for $1 each

$2.00 or Less: (6) Pillsbury Crescent Rolls for $1.17 each, (2) boxes of Betty Crocker Potatoes for $1.25 each (I don’t have any more coupons for these), (1) 8 roll pack of Scotts Bath Tissue for $1.77 (I used a raincheck I had for $3.77 and a $1 coupon), (2) boxes of Zatarain’s Rice Mix for $1.27 each, (2) packs of HT Shredded Cheese for $1.47, (2) bottles of Wisk Laundry Detergent for $1.99 each (I used a $3.99 raincheck I had and used the $1 coupons), and (2) bottles of Softsoap Body Wash for $1.97 each

I realize that I am starting to use more rainchecks earlier than I normally do at this point during super doubles.  I think that means that there are not as many great deals on items (at least on the things I want/need) and I am having to make my own deals with rainchecks.  Anybody else feel like that?  While I am getting some great stockpile on cereal and few other things, I think the deals are not quite as good as I have seen them during super doubles.  Also, if you are doing the GM deals, please have your cashier ring these items together to make sure your instant savings and $5 off your next shopping trip e-coupon are credited to your order/VIC card.  Also, if you planning to get the Smithfield Bacon Pouches, get them quick!  I just happened to get my 3 when they were restocking and by the time I walked back by that section again there was only 1 pack left.  I also had to get a raincheck for the Chex cereal on my EVIC and for Charmin Freshmates.  Remember we love rainchecks!!!!!

But of course I am going back tomorrow…..gotta get my Deer Park Water and some other things so stay tuned! :)

@HarrisTeeter Super Doubles Trip #2: Spent $30.38 For $121.75 Worth Of Items!

Happy Thursday!  I wanted to post my second trip to @HarrisTeeter (I actually got my hubby @Dwayne Hodges to do this trip).  He spent $30.38 for $121.75 worth of items, saving 75%.  One thing for this trip that I noticed on the receipt is that he did not get the $2 off instantly when you buy 4 boxes of GM cereals or the $1 off instantly for buying the Hamburger Helper.  If you account for the $3 instant savings, he would have spent $27.38.  Please make sure you check your receipts before you leave the store for those instant savings.  I will get this money back on my next trip from customer service.  So let’s review what he got:

FREE Items:  None (boo!)

$1.00 or Less:  (6) bags of Ricola Cough Drops for 10 cents each, (4) boxes of Hefty Storage bags for 52 cents, (3) Coffeemate Creamers for 52 cents each, (4) boxes of Mueller’s whole Grain Pasta for 75 cents, (6) Smart Balance Butters for 77 cents each, (4) boxes of Hamburger Helper for 55 cents each, (1) Mrs. Paul Fishsticks for 84 cents, (4) Hormel Microwave Meals for 87 cents, (4) boxes of GM Cereals for 95 cents each, (2) Jones Sausage for $1 each

$2.00 or Less: (2) cartons of Blue Bunny Birthday Party Ice Cream (yummy!) for $1.49 each.

Did you shop at Harris Teeter today?  Any good deals?  How was the stock?  Is anyone having issues with getting the instant savings?
