Harris Teeter Triples Trip #1: Paid $.72 Cents For $102.26 Worth of Items, Saving 99%!!!!!

Happy Wednesday!!!!  Today is the first day of triples $1 and under at Charlotte area Harris Teeter stores (all other stores are doing super doubles).  I made an early run to the store and it was busy with savvy shoppers!  I spent 72 cents for $102.26 worth of items, saving 99%!!!!!

I actually had $3.22 in overage so I bought the (2) 5lb. bags of Pillsbury Flour (EVIC special) to cover it.  I also used my 5% VIC Discount card on this trip.  I did make one goof:  I didn’t use my $1/1 Secret coupon to triple to get the overage, but I won’t complain since my total was 72 cents for everything.  Here is what I got:

FREE PLUS OVERAGE:  (1) Febreze Air Effects (used a rain check for $1.97), (1) Febreze Warmer, (1) Febreze Car freshener, (1) Dawn Dish Detergent (9 oz) and (6) Nivea Lip Balms — I used a rain check for $1.50 each and Harris Teeter has a sale on them for 20% off so I got 6 for $1.20 each and used (3) $3/2 Nivea coupons

FREE:  (3) Smithfield Bacon, (2) Gwaltney Bacon, (1) Alfresco Chicken Sausage

$1.00 or Less:  (2) 5 lb. Dixie Crystals Sugar for 32 cents each, (3) Mazola Cooking Spray for 34 cents each, (1) Butterball Turkey Sub Kit for 49 cents, (3) IHOP French Toast Pastries for 59 cents each and (2) Pompeian Olive Oil for 99 cents each

Stay tuned for more trips!  Please share with us what deals you get!

Savvy Saturday Shopping Results!

Happy Saturday!  I am having a super busy weekend.  I spent part of my Saturday at the Renaissance Hotel in Charlotte at the @Celebrate Life 08 Health Fair hosted by Jeannette Gregory.  Jeanette is a breast cancer survivor and has a wonderful testimony as to God’s faithfulness and healing.

My shopping trips this weekend included 3 stores:  Bi-LO, Harris Teeter and Publix.  Here is what I got:

Bi-Lo I spent $7.35 for $104.21 worth of groceries, saving 93%.  I used a $10/$40 Harris Teeter coupon on this trip.

FREE PLUS OVERAGE: (10) Robutussin Cough Medicine (used 10 $3 manufacturer coupons and (5) $5/2 Publix coupons)

FREE:  (1) Southern Home Big Roll Single Paper Towel, (1) dozen Southern Home Eggs

$1.00 or Less:  (1) Minute Maid Lemonade Refrigerated Juice for 67 cents (used $1 Bilo coupon) and (3) Pillsbury Grand Biscuits for 98 cents each

$2.00 or Less:  (1) Crisco Extra Virgin Olive Oil for $1.99 (used $1 Target coupon)

Harris Teeter:  I did two trips to Harris Teeter.  On my first trip I spent $11.14 for $116.08 worth of groceries, saving 90%.  I used a $10/$50 Recyclebank Harris Teeter coupon, $5/$25 Dollar General coupon, $3.50 in CVS Extracare Bucks, and $1 off meat item Publix coupon and a $2 off ground beef Harris Teeter coupon.

FREE:  (3) McCormick Grillmates (not in picture)

$1.00 or Less:  (9) Totino’s Pizza Rolls for 49 cents each, (2) Kellogg’s Cereals for 77 cents each and (2) Dole Frozen Fruit Cups for 77 cents each, (1) Blue Bonnet Margarine for 99 cents

For my second trip I had to go to the Tega Cay location because I wanted to buy the a $25 gas card for $20.  You earn this for every $40 you spend at that location.  Therefore, I spent $22.22 for $40.62, including the gas card.  This is a great way to save on gas, especially if you buy the Shell card and use your Fuelperks from Bi-Lo.  I used a $5/$30 Publix coupon and also purchased 2 Organic Valley Milks for $1.99 each, 1 Clorox Bleach on clearance for $1.29 and 3 Tic Tacs for 49 cents each.

Publix:  My trip to Publix was to really check out and do some comparison shopping.  I also grabbed new coupons.  They also have some $5/$30 Publix coupons at the customer service desk so make sure you ask for one.  I spent $10.98 for $26.87 worth of groceries, saving 59%.

I got (2) Silk Fruit & Protein and (1) Pepperidge Farm Jingos Crackers for $1, (2) half-gallon Publix Sweet Tea for 80 cents each, (2) bags of Eat Smart Broccoli for $1 each, onions and a London Broil ($2.99/lb.). I used the $1 off meat Publix coupon on it.

There are so many rumors swirling in coupon world about Harris Teeter doing super doubles or super triples.  All I can say is, get your coupons ready because this coming Wednesday will be a great week of shopping.

What deals did you get this weekend?  If you have been to Publix, let us know what you think about it.

Publix & Harris Teeter (Super Double Wed.) Shopping Trips!!!

Happy Wednesday!!  So today is the official day that Publix opened in Fort Mill & Indian Land, SC.  Myself and hundreds of other people (Flo, Jessica — met her at Publix and she shopped with me and Flo and Harris Teeter afterwards, Ambrosia, Shannon) were in line and walking in the store right at 7 am.  I have to say based on the ad I received yesterday, I was not overly impressed with the deals and sale items.  The store is absolutely beautiful and the staff is super friendly.  I actually only spent 50 cents at Publix — buying two boxes of Uncle Ben’s Rice and used a coupon for a free lettuce (a really nice lady gave me her coffee from her bag of free groceries after she purchased $50 in groceries).  Also, I realized I was charged food tax for my items and had to get reimbursed at customer service.  So if you shop Publix in Fort Mill (does not apply to the Indian Land store), make sure you do not pay tax for your food.

Harris Teeter:  It was another super double Wednesday and I made two trips.  In total I spent $7.52 for  $173.90 worth of items, saving 96%.  On both trips I used my 5% Harris Teeter discount card.  Here is what I got:

FREE PLUS OVERAGE: (1) Aquafresh Toothpaste, (1) Olay Facial Cleansers

FREE:  (3) Smart Balance Milk (used rain check), (2) Newman’s Own Pizza, (2) McCormick Grillmates Seasonings, (1) Truvia Sweetner, (3) Oxy Clinical Products, (1) Suave Lotion, (1) Smithfield Ground Pork, (2) Olay Facial Cleansers (4) Olay Body Wash, (3) El Monterrey Burritos

$1.00 or Less:  (4) Werther’s Original Candy for 25 cents each, (2) Palermo Pizzas for 47 cents each, (6) Totino Pizza Rolls for 49 cents each, (4) Smithfield Sausage for 50 cents each, (3) Cooked Perfect Meatballs for 50 cents each, (3) Mazola Cooking Spray for 89 cents each

Over $1.00:  (1) Olay Complete Moisturizer for $1.99 (my Olay purchase will go towards the P&G rebate)

My thoughts on Publix are still developing…..  I will still be a frequent shopper at Harris Teeter and Bi-Lo since they both double coupons everyday up to 99 cents (Publix only doubles to 50 cents).  Plus, as long as Harris Teeter run super double and triple coupon events, I know they will always see my face.  I definitely need to go back to Publix once the excitement dies down (and hope for a better sales ad next week). So it looks like I just added a third store to my list of places to shop so stay tuned….

The Big Day Is Almost Here!!!

Hello!!!  Publix will have its grand opening in Fort Mill and Indian Land, SC tomorrow, 10/24th with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:45 AM and opening at 7:00 AM.  I will be there and will give you full report and hope to share some pictures as well.  I got these in the mail today from both Harris Teeter and Publix.  Let’s just say competition is great!  Let the games begin!!!!!

Wednesday, 10/24th is the grand opening for Publix and I will be there to check it all out.  I do know that they will only double coupons up to 50 cents.  It will be interesting to see if they change that since Harris Teeter and Bi-Lo both double to 99 cents.  Plus with Harris Teeter doing super doubles and triples, I am sure that I will shop at my Harris Teeter.  Also, there are rumors that all Harris Teeters will be doing Triples on 10/31st tripling up to $1 in value (1+1+1 =3).  Wow!  That is all I can say.  I have NOT, I repeat, I have NOT seen an ad, but wanted you to know so you can prepare in case it is true.

What deals are you getting this weekend?  Will you be shopping at Publix on Wednesday?
