Good morning! Here is Lesson 8 – Coupon Fraud: It’s Not Worth It in the Learn To Coupon series.
Lesson 8: Coupon Fraud: It’s Not Worth It!
With all the talk about “extreme couponing”, I thought it would be appropriate to talk today about the proper use of coupons. I do not support using coupons fraudulently at all. For me, it is about my integrity or I like to call it “Righteous Couponing”. Your Dictionary.com gives one definition of integrity as: “the quality or state of being of sound moral principle; uprightness, honesty, and sincerity.” So, another word for integrity is honesty. Proverbs 21:3 says: To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. It is better to do the right thing with coupons than to risk your relationship with God because He sees all and knows all. It is not worth it in the end to get that free or cheap item if you got it using your coupons dishonestly. (Note: If you do not have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ get one today by making Him your personal savior. Your life will never be the same, trust me I know!)
I found some really great blog posts at the links below that I thought do an excellent job of discussing this subject. Please take the time to read them and make sure you understand what not to do with your coupons.
The bottom line of it all is: Use your coupons the right way. It is not worth getting in trouble with God and/or serving jail time for free/cheap items. (Yes you can go to jail for misusing coupons!).
